In a statement, the national chairman, Phase II ex-militants, Mr Stephen Ebisinte, narrated that leaders of the ex-agitators under Phase II wrote series of letters to the new management when they came on board, felicitating with them and informing them of the existing relationship between the Commission and ex-militant leaders, but no response was given. http://ift.tt/eA8V8J The Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, NIMR, alongside the Nigerian Council of Physicians of Natural Medicine, NCPNM, is to vet all traditional medicine products produced in the country for efficiency, efficacy and safety for human consumption. The NIMR is the regulatory body set up by the Federal Government that regulates all medicines manufactured locally or imported. To this end, the NIMR has signed an MOU with NCPNM to conduct intensive, research and investigate the therapeutic and medicinal capability of Nigeria’s natural medicinal products. The MOU is to enable the two bodies to establish collaborations/cooperation for the search and development of Nigerian indigenous natural medicinal products with potential health and economic benefits to Nigerians at large. Speaking   at the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with  a group, Market Development Project in the Niger Delta, MADE, Mr Ekere, explained that under the agreement, MADE will work with the commission to stimulate sustainable effort in selected agricultural markets He also said the MoU would create access to grants to develop initiatives in oil palm production and poultry farming, noting that Niger Deltans would be trained in poultry farming, aquatic farming and ICT supported agriculture extension.
