Consequently, the House promised to expedite action in the passage of a holistic bill that would consider all segments in the smooth operation of oil companies in the country. Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum,Upstream, Victor Nwokolo, told journalists in Abuja that the PIB the House would pass into law would not only be holistic but also encompass the interests of host communities and fiscal regulation of the oil industry. Speaking at the ceremony in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area,  General Olonisakin  said that the Naval War College will adequately equip naval personnel to effectively discharge their reponsibilities to the nation. The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas,  who also spoke at the event, said that the Naval War College will serve as the highest training institution for the Navy. Helen Sunday. The command’s spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, said that one of the fleeing members of the gang,  Ifeanyi Abarikwu, aka Maya, was trailed to a hideout at Apapa, Lagos state,  where he was arrested, treating injury he sustained in a gun battle with the police in Enugu. Amaraizu recalled that two members of the gang that killed the police sergeant were earlier arrested in Enugu and had since confessed to the crime. Vanguard survey revealed that the parallel market exchange rate dropped from N375 per dollar on Wednesday to N374 per dollar at the close of business yesterday. Parallel market operators attributed the appreciation to weak demand for dollars which occasioned dollar glut in the market.  Investigations revealed that the dollar glut was occasioned by the long holiday and the regular sale of dollars to bureaux de change (BDCs) by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
