Oghenevwogaga, an alumni of Atlantic Hall Schools, who is currently schooling in Canada, was represented by his mother, Helen Majemite, and one of his siblings, Rukky, at the Outstanding Cambridge Leaner Awards, in Lagos. According to DSP Joseph Alabi, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command , the deportees ,who were all men, landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 3.30pm. He said they were brought back to Nigeria from Johannesburg aboard a South African Airways aircraft with registration number BBB712 He said : “This afternoon, about 3.30pm, 90 Nigerians were deported from South Africa for committing immigration-related offences. Some of them were alleged to have been living in the country without the prerequisite documents. “They were received by the appropriate agencies including the police and profiled before being allowed to depart to their respective destinations. “ This deportation is coming barely three days after  another batch of 258 Nigerians were  deported from Libya. ...

The exercise was carried out in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in response to the outbreak of the disease in some northern states of the country. The benefiting states include Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa and Kaduna. Others are Kano, Katsina,   Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara Nasarawa and Niger State. Also covered are Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara states. The prison service also extended the service to members of staff and their families including civilians living in the neighbourhood of the Prisons. This is the first phase of the exercise, which is expected to cover Prison formations in all the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory. The Tollgate accident occurred at about 7.30a.m., while that of Obada occurred at about 11.40a.m. Vanguard gathered that the driver of the 18-seater bus, with number plates AKD 202 XF, was on high speed when he lost control and rammed into some pedestrians, killing one on the spot, while his 18 passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries. It was gathered that the prompt intervention of law enforcement agents, including Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, prevented further causalities as rescue operation was said to have commenced immediately.
