Image
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J A crowd of Manchester United fans were cheering outside a Stockholm stadium on Wednesday as their team won the Europa League, a relief for the supporters after the Manchester terror attack 48 hours earlier. “It’s fantastic to see them winning. We were always confident that we would win,” said George Malloy, a 69-year-old from Dublin. “I think it will be a good lift for the people of Manchester,” he added. Manchester fans were screaming and whistling in joy, while their Ajax counterparts were biting their nails as the English club won 2-0. Outside the entrance of the modernly decorated Friends Arena in the Stockholm suburb of Solna, fans were upbeat and cheerful under sunny summer skies, but nervous about both the outcome of the match and security issues. Ahead of Wednesday’s match, players held a minute’s silence in honour of the victims of Monday’s suicide bombing at the Manchester Arena which left 22 people dead. For Mark, a 19-year-old Manchester fan livi...

HEALTHY LIVING: Be careful, your rush for green tea may not be for wellness

Image
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J THE world of health and wellness can be confusing and leave you with your head spinning sometimes. Today, researchers may publish that certain food or drink is good for health and wellness but before you know it, same research might discover again that the health risk is high. What every Homemaker should know is that there is no food that is good for everyone, just as I mentioned last week on the craze for smoothies. We are all unique individuals, with different genetics, different biochemical needs and different reactions to ingested foods. Indeed, one person’s food is another person’s poison. What this also means – and perhaps this is one of the most important points to make – is that everyone could and would have a different response to various types of foods. This takes us to the issue of the rush for green tea. It is true that research has demonstrated that there are a number of health-promoting benefits including anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogen...

Chelsea a win away from title

Image
http://ift.tt/2poEYMl Cesc Fabregas sparkled as Chelsea moved to within touching distance of the Premier League title and condemned Middlesbrough to relegation with a breezy 3-0 home win on Monday. Fabregas made sure Chelsea capitalised on Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 defeat at West Ham United on Friday by supplying assists for Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic, with Marcos Alonso also finding the net. It left Chelsea seven points clear of Spurs at the summit and means they will be crowned champions for the second time in three seasons if they win at West Bromwich Albion on Friday. Should they fail to take maximum points at The Hawthorns, subsequent home games against Watford and relegated Sunderland mean Antonio Conte’s side have plenty of margin for error. Fabregas has now set up 10 or more goals in six different English top-flight seasons — a record in the Premier League era. Boro return to the Championship after one season back among the elite, joining Sunderland in sinking into the ...
