PHOTO: AFP / STEFAN HEUNIS In a move to provide support for the country’s perennial water shortage, the Mission Director, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Stephen Haykin has said that over 57 million Nigerians lack access to potable water in Nigeria. Besides, the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai and his Bauchi State counterpart, Mohammed Abubakar have commended the USAID in embarking on the project to improve water supply in the two states. Speaking yesterday at the official launch of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Kaduna, Haykin said that one million Nigerian children die yearly for lack of drinkable water.
