Inter Club Badminton competition: City Gate’re champions
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Chioma Nwafor City Gate, Abuja emerged the champion of the 2nd edition International Inter Club Badminton Competition, which ended at Ikoyi Club during the weekend. The winners won two gold medals, while the Nigeria Police team finished second with one gold and two silver medals. The host team finished third with one gold medal. Eleven teams participated in the competition with one from Accra, Ghana. Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who was represented by Olawale Olowu, Commissioner for power, oil and gas, solid mineral, stated that the state government was ready to ensure that sports develops in the state. He also commended the Ikoyi Club for the successful hosting of the event and assured that the state, through the Sports commission is ready to partner willing organisations to help develop and promote sports in the state.
