Kano State earmarks N300m for Ramadan feeding programme

http://ift.tt/2qmUg5B Ramadan free feeding programme The Kano State Government has earmarked N300 million for the annual Ramadan free feeding programme scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 27. Malam Ibrahim Kankarofi, Chairman of the programme made the disclosure at a meeting with coordinators of the feeding centres at Government House, Kano on Friday. He said the state government had made adequate preparations to ensure the success of the programme across the 44 local government areas of the state. Kankarofi warned that anyone found diverting the food items would be appropriately punished. According to him, the state government has approved additional menu including Spaghetti and Macaroni as well as other items. He urged well-to-do Muslims in the state to complement government effort as the programme was aimed at assisting the poor in the society. Father turns 17-year-old daughter to sex tool

Oluwaseun was released on N300,000 bail with two sureties in like sum after he pleaded not guilty to the charge. The 51-year-old electrician, who resides at 40, Popoola Str., Offin in Ikorodu,  Lagos State, is facing a charge of rape. Police Prosecutor Clifford Ogu told the court that the accused committed the offence between Aug. 8, 2016 and April 2017 at his residence. Mentally disabled woman gives birth to baby girl in Rivers

She was delivered of the baby Thursday morning with assistance from people in the neighborhood. Her baby was taken good care of by well-wishers who were at the scene of the delivery. FG to train youths on post-harvest activities, application of agro-chemicals

The National Coordinator of ATASP-1, Mr Haruna Akwashiki, made this known in an interview in Abuja on Friday. ATASP-1 is a programme developed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to improve food and nutrition security. It also seeks to generate employment and wealth creation along the rice, cassava and sorghum value chains to enhance the nation’s food security. The national coordinator said wrong chemical application on crops had caused rejection of the nation’s beans at international markets, hence the need for the training.
