The commission, in a statement that was signed by its Principal Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Mebrim Uchechukwu, described the quit notice threat as a “serious affront on human rights”. “The alleged quit notice, to say the least is not only provocative and a serious threat to national peace and security, but a clear violation of the fundamental human rights of all Nigerians to reside, acquire and own immovable properties in any part of the country as guaranteed under section 43 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended)”.
