Google linking online and offline worlds in new ad challenge

Image
http://ift.tt/2qobRxO Google is testing a way to tie online ads to brick-and-mortar store purchases, a move whetting marketing appetites while fueling privacy worries. A product called “Google Attribution” was unveiled at a marketing conference this month in San Francisco by the internet giant. Google has long been able to determine when users click on an ads and make a purchase, but linking online and offline habits takes its analytics a step further. Google senior vice president Sridhar Ramaswamy, who announced that Attribution is in test mode with a limited number of partners and will be rolled out to more advertisers in coming weeks, touted the tool as being able to answer the long-challenging question of whether marketing campaigns are working. “Google Attribution makes it possible for every marketer to measure the impact of their marketing across devices and across channels,” Ramaswamy said. “Data-driven attribution uses machine learning to determine how much credit to...

Aubameyang seals Dortmund’s German Cup final win

Image
http://ift.tt/2r91bR2 Dortmund's Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (front) and teamates celebrate with the trophy after victory during the German Cup (DFB Pokal) final football match Eintracht Frankfurt v BVB Borussia Dortmund at the Olympic stadium in Berlin on May 27, 2017. Tobias SCHWARZ / AFP Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted a second-half penalty to seal Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Saturday’s German Cup final — on what could be his final Dortmund appearance. Aubameyang’s calmly taken spot-kick was his 40th goal this season for Dortmund in all competitions and ended Dortmund’s misery after losing the three previous cup finals in Berlin in 2014, 2015 and 2016. His winning penalty was Aubameyang’s 120th goal in his 190th game in four seasons with Dortmund. However, despite having a contract until 2020, this could be Aubameyang’s final appearance having said he will decide his future after talks with Dortmund’s bosses. He is repo...

Two years of Buhari; How did we survive?

Image
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J THERE have been times when I asked myself how we ended up with President Muhammadu Buhari again. Two years and half way into his first term, the charm that gave Buhari a historic victory over Goodluck Jonathan’s government appears to have faded, leading to troubling comparisons with that incompetent government. Part of the problem has been inflated expectations, but who can deny that the disappointments and anguish have been real? An estimated 4.5million people have lost their jobs, inflation has been around 15 percent, with food and energy costs going up, up, up. Monetary and fiscal policies have been haphazard and with the cat distracted by health concerns, the mice seem to be doing their own thing. To compound Buhari’s misery, falling oil prices and sponsored violence in the Niger Delta have severely limited the standard Nigerian response of throwing money at every problem. Bitter honeymoon  Yet, the feeling of a bitter honeymoon hardly tells the whole...

Confusion in Ibadan markets as two claim Iyaloja title

Image
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Ola Ajayi Ibadan—THE ripples generated by the removal of Iyaloja of Ibadanland, Chief Labake Lawal and installation of a new one, Alhaja Iswat Abiola Ameringun, by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji are yet to settle as the two women, yesterday, laid claims to the title. Though, it was widely publicised that Chief  Lawal, ceased to be the the Iyaloja, she said she remained the title holder, claiming that her removal was not by the Olubadan-in-Council. According to her, she was removed because she is not an Ibadan indigene, which she said, is alien to the process of choosing Iyaloja. Security agents, believed to have been sent by the state government, had stopped an initial move to install a new person  at the palace of Olubadan. But, the new installation was eventually done by the monarch without any hindrance. As at now, there is division in major markets within the city as supporters of the two Iyaloja queue behind their preferred candi...

Anthony Joshua: Rejected ‘Stone’ has now become the head of a corner!

Image
http://ift.tt/2qKSxHP Sometimes, the greatest thing that will ever happen to some of us is rejection! The reason has been that most times, rejection is simply redirection. When people continually reject you, it is because God is redirecting you. One of the core secrets of great people is in their ability to handle and overcome rejection without harbouring any form of bitterness. In fact, I have come a long way to realise that great people most of the times are greatly rejected. The Bible captured it sensationally in Psalm 118: 22-23, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the head of a corner. This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes”. The Bible says this is the Lord’s doing. In a way, which is beyond human comprehension, God sometimes organises our rejection so that we don’t settle for less, because those that settle for less don’t get the best out of life. Mark Zuckerberg’s idea of Facemash, which later matured to Facebook, was vigorously rejected by...
