Destination. . . Idanre Hills

http://ift.tt/2qYoIWe The historic Idanre Hills represent one of the wonders of nature and a marvelous tourist attraction. Located in the ancient town of Idanre, South-West, Nigeria, this destination is so strategically located at about 15km southwest of Akure, the state capital. The Hills, which are steep-sided, smooth and dome-shape in nature, present an awe-inspiring sight. The different hills were named after some historical figures in the socio-cultural evolution of Idanre land some of these are the Olofin and Orosun Hills named after Olofin, the pioneer Oba of Oke-Idanre and his queen respectively. The Aghagha Hill is very peculiar because it has a very wonderful footprint named Aghgun into which visitor put their feet. It is believed that anybody whose feet do not exactly fit into the footprint is considered to be a witch or wizard. AMCON recovers N134b in 2016

http://ift.tt/2q8vt5r Managing Director, AMCON, Ahmed Kuru The nation’s bad bank- Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) said its total debt recovery in 2016 stood at N134 billion, although not all were cash.The breakdown of the figures showed that N86.9 billion was collected in cash; N30.46 billion in assets forfeiture; N7.9 billion in sales of properties; while dividend and other shares amounted to N8.7 billion. Meanwhile, it also said it is nearing the completion of the sale of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Limited.The move, which is part of AMCON’s strategies to recover huge debt in its books, would see the local car assembly being off-loaded to local investors. The assembly plant, according to AMCON, is estimated at about N15 billion ($49 million) by the subsisting valuation, with the capacity to assemble 90,000 cars yearly, under the technical partnership of PSA Peugeot Citroen.
