The Chairman’s personal assistant, Mr. Akaninyene Ibuot and another whose identity was not immediately available at press time, Vanguard learned were also arrested for their involvement the dastardly act. Mrs. Sakpra was said to have been abducted last Thursday at about 6:15p.m around the Ekete Inland junction along the DSC Expressway in Udu Local Government Area of the state. Giving details of the incident, a police source hinted that the victim was whisked to an unknown destination by the hoodlums on her way home after dropping one of her sales girls along the Expressway. “The hoodlums went away with the victim in her car which was later recovered the following day along the Effurun/Ughelli section of the East-West road,” the source stated. NYSC to post corps members to farms

Suleiman Kazaure, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), said on Monday that the scheme would soon begin posting of corps members to farms. Kazaure said this in an interview with newsmen during his official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun. He said that the move to deploy corps members in farms was in line with the agricultural development programme of the NYSC. According to him, the NYSC has concluded preparations to begin the posting at the conclusion of the three-week orientation exercise. Senate to debate Fiscal Responsibility Act violations by Wednesday

The decision followed a Point of Order by the Deputy Leader of the Senate, Bala Na’Allah, at plenary on Tuesday. He said that revenue-generating agencies of government had refused to submit their 2017 fiscal proposals to the National Assembly, contrary to regulations. Presenting the order, Na’Allah said that it was his responsibility to collate the agencies’ budgets and submit to the chamber for consideration, but said that he was yet to receive the proposals.
