Andy Uba condoles with Obiano over mother’s death

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Vincent Ujumadu Awka—THE Senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Dr. Andy Uba, has condoled with the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, over the death of his mother. The governor’s mother, Mrs. Christiana Obiano, died last week at the age of 90 and will be buried July 20, 2017 at Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area of the state. In a condolence message to the governor, yesterday, Uba said Obiano’s mother’s death came to him as a shock and described her death as a huge loss to the family. He prayed God to grant Governor Obiano and his entire family the fortitude to bear the loss and also prayed for the peaceful repose of the gentle soul of the Obiano matriarch. Since the death of Mrs. Obiano was announced, prominent Nigerians, including Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, have sent condolence messages to the governor. EFCC calls 5th witness in Orji Kalu’s trial

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Innocent Anaba The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  yesterday called its fifth witness in the on-going trial of a former Abia State Governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and two others before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos. In her examination-in-chief, the witness, Toyosi Ekorhi, a Compliance Officer at First City Monument Bank, FCMB, told the court that the bank forwarded everything concerning the account status of Slok Nigeria Ltd to the EFCC in response to an enquiry over same from the anti-graft agency, about two months ago. The witness said that the documents were retrieved from the archives of the defunct Inland Bank Plc., but she had no knowledge of its contents because she never worked at the bank. According to her, the company’s statements of account sent to the EFCC covered transactions done between August 27, 2008 and November 12, 2012, but claimed ignorance of the transactions which she said were done in Finbank Plc.
