Kennedy have found certain aspects of his engaging life and his death confounding. Lincoln and John Kennedy were two outstanding United States Presidents. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th U.S. President while Kennedy was the 35th. But there were very striking, indeed astounding similarities in certain aspects of their lives and their deaths. Lincoln made abolition of slavery prevalent in the South a presidential campaign issue. He stood for his country’s union which angered the confederates at the time. It was indeed one of the confederates that assassinated him. The assassination of Kennedy was totally unexpected. He was one of the most-loved presidents in American history and his death reverberated around the world. I recall that Adeolu Akinsanya, one of Nigeria’s music maestros, composed a moving song paying glowing tribute to John F. Kennedy’s human rights struggle ...

As we witness a fluctuating level of progress in Africa despite our overzealous religious commitments, it appears religion hasn’t done us much good. Neither have our leaders! Gunmen kill pastor in Umuahia

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Anayo Okoli U MUAHIA—G unmen killed an Umuahia-based civil engineering contractor, indentified as Emeka Okenna, closed to his poultry farm located at Umuobia Housing Estate, Olokoro, in Umuahia South LGA, Saturday morning. Late Okenna is also the pastor of a branch of Behold He Cometh Church at Umudike. According one Godson Igwe, a staff of the slain pastor, the assassins were over six in number. He said they approached his boss and asked him of a certain lady, who they claimed he owned salary for several months.
