The youth association president, Comrade Stanley Ude, while briefing newsmen at the monthly meeting, resolved to give Ekweremadu the necessary support to ensure that the plot against him does not come to fruition, considering his contribution to youth development in Nigeria with his various programmes such as the scholarship, that has given thousands of youths the opportunity to acquire university degrees and other form of training that has given the youths employment. Okorocha laments death of CCA President

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Chidi Nkwopara O WERRI — Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has expressed shock over the death of the President of the state’s Customary Court of Appeal, CCA, Justice Pius Ifeanyi Okpara, after a brief illness. According to a Government House statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, “the government highly regrets the death of Justice Okpara at this time when his service to the people of Imo State, the Bench and Bar, are mostly needed.” The governor promised that his administration would liaise with members of the late jurist’s family “to give the judicial icon the kind of burial he  deserves.” While extending his “condolences to the judiciary over the demise of this great jurist,” Okorocha also urged Imo people to pray for the family. The GLC Coupe 63 S is a crossover between the company’s popular SUV and sports car line. “We are proud of the newest addition to our SUV family. With the AMG, a high-performance engine, you’ve got the GLC Coupe 63 S,” Exler told CNBC. “It’s a bi-turbo 8-cylinder engine and 503 horsepower.” Exler pointed out that he’s seen no slowdown in demand for the SUVs, in fact noting that factories are already working “overtime” to produce more. Medical doctor, 74, commits suicide in Aba

Vanguard gathered that Mbaekpe, who lives in Abayi area of the city has been suffering from undisclosed ailment for about 30 years. According to a family source, the medical doctor, aged 74, kept lamenting that he was tired of life, as his health condition defied solution. While his wife, Mary, was said to be out of the house, Mbaekpe allegedly shot himself which attracted neighbours. He died as he was being taken to the hospital. “He has been sick for about 30 years now. While the family continued to take care of him and seek solution to his ailment, he kept telling us that he was tired of life. While his wife was out of the house, he shot himself. Nobody knew he could get to the extent of taking his life,” a family source said. The warning came from a Professor of Animal Nutrition and Products Enhancement, Gbenga Onibi, of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, while delivering the institution’s 86th inaugural lecture on Meatiness Plus Quality of Our Meat: Gateway to Ancestral Blessing . He said from research findings, the quality of imported meats is questionable and they are laden with various preservatives that could be dangerous to human health. He also called for proper legislation against the display of fresh and frozen meat on unrefrigerated counters in the markets. CAN, in a letter by its Secretary General, Mr. Musa Asake, said that the participation of Nigeria in the event was illegal, since Nigeria was a secular state.
