http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Ben Agande & Omeiza Ajayi KADUNA: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has advanced reasons for its inability to scale down the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration CVR to the ward level, saying doing that would require the level of funding that the commission does not have INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this on Wednesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) and other senior staff of the commission over the ongoing continuous voters registration process. According to Yakubu, about N1.2bn would be required daily to pay allowances of adhoc staff, while the total budgetary provision for CVR in the 2017 budget which includes rerun and tenured elections, bye-elections and general elections is N1.2bn this year.
