Obasanjo endorses Governor Ortom for second term

http://ift.tt/2qPpPrH Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has endorsed Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue for a second term. Obasanjo spoke on Saturday in Makurdi after commissioning the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery. He said that he was impressed with what he saw at the two schools, which lost official recognition for the past three years, but with the help of the governor they regained accreditation. He said that all the facilities that were lacking, have been provided by the governor, adding that it was not a mean feat. The elder statesman said that with what he had seen so far, Ortom was doing well and needed to be given more time to consolidate on his achievements. 18-year-old man in court for alleged theft of bicycle

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J Badagry – Mebitiwon Adebayo, 18-year-old man, who allegedly stole a bicycle belonging to one Onche Sunday, was on Tuesday charged before Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos. Adebayo, whose address was not given, is facing a charge of stealing. The prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem, told the court that accused committed the offence on May 2, at No1, Padonu Close, Morogbo, Badagry. He said the accused stole the bicycle from where it was parked in the complainant’s compound. “The gate to the compound was opened; the accused walked in and took the bicycle; he was caught by the complainant as he tried to ride it away. “He (complainant) raised alarm and the accused was apprehended and taken to the police station,’’ he said. The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal law of Lagos State, 2011. Court dissolves 10-year-old marriage over alleged adultery

Ilori sought dissolution of the marriage on grounds of adultery, “no rest of mind and lack of care for him.’’ The 35-year-old furniture maker told the court on oath that the respondent was fond of having secret affairs with different men while she was living in his house. The father of two children told the court that the behaviour of the respondent did not give him peace of mind, whenever he thought of her actions. He urged the court to dissolve the marriage with the respondent to enable him have rest of mind. The petitioner also prayed the court to grant the custody of his two children to the respondent, pending the time he would be financially buoyant to provide a conducive accommodation for them.
