Why I resigned as Sunshine Stars technical adviser – Eguavoen

Eguavoen made the disclosure in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure. NAN reports that the Ondo State Football Agency had on April 25 in Akure made public the appointment of former Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Austin Eguavoen, as Sunshine new Technical Adviser. Also, a former Eagles’ goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorounmu, was unveiled as the goalkeeper trainer. The Interim Management Committee of the Ondo State Football Agency led by Gbenga Elegbeleye, former Director-General, National Sports Commission, opted for the choice of Eguavoen and Shorounmu based on their track records in the game. “We agreed on bringing Eguavoen and Shorounmu on board to handle this club because of the track records of the two coaches....

http://ift.tt/2p9I2Pm Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Kaduna State to investigate and arrest members of the Coalition of Northern Youths for issuing an ultimatum to South Easterners living in the North. The Coalition of Northern Youths on June 6, at a news conference in Kaduna, gave a three-month ultimatum to South Easterners living in the North to leave. It had also ordered Northerners living in the southeastern part of the country to return to the North. The group attributed the ultimatum to the constant agitation by the Igbo ethnic group to have their own independent country. Morocco’s admission in ECOWAS is anti-Nigeria, says Akinyemi

Akinyemi also said in a statement that the recent admission of Morocco into the regional organisation, was an anti-Nigeria move. “Having failed to find any rational benefit to ECOWAS by expanding membership to Morocco, I can only conclude that the move is to whittle down Nigeria’s influence in ECOWAS. “And by extension, in the world, as Nigeria’s status as a regional power is facilitated by its role in ECOWAS. “Nigeria has only one option. New Army University to take off in September – COAS

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J The Nigerian Army University Biu in Borno will take off next September, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai has said. Buratai made the disclosure shortly after receiving the Certificate of Occupancy and the surveyed site master plan for the university site from Gov. Kashim Shettima in Maiduguri on Monday. He said that the Army had already reached out to the National Universities Commission (NUC) to secure approval for the university. Buratai disclosed that Army engineers had also commenced construction work at the site and thanked the Borno Government for the allocation of the land. He said that funding for the university project was captured in the 2017 budget and commended the Federal Government for its commitment to the take off of the institution.
