‘For rebuking me, I tried to kill my master by putting rat poison in his food’

http://ift.tt/2rKWzmD By Dayo Johnson, Akure Many families have tales of woe to tell when it comes to the activities of house maids.   The tales resonated in Ondo town when a 14-year-old maid allegedly tried to poison her master because she was rebuked. Mr Nasiru Akinlosotu, 63, a former medicine store operator, would have gone six feet down if not for providence. His escape from death after Mary Akinnifesi put rat poison in his meal saved his family from weeping over him. How such a thought came to a primary four pupil remained a puzzle to the family of the victim and the police investigating the matter. She was said to have taken the action against her master because she was rebuked  for messing up the living room with water a night before she was directed to prepare the dinner by the wife of the victim. Not knowing that the suspect was nursing a  ?grudge against Akinlosotun, the wife, Sikirat, as usual, directed the maid to prepare beans for dinner and to ser...

For the PDP to be able to serve as a strong opposition to keep the government in power on its toes, the crisis rocking th e party should be resolved. This will facilitate reconciliation that will unite the party to perform its role in the nation’s democracy. Sheriff’s counsel, Akin Olujimi (SAN) said the application was an abuse of court process because Makarfi ought to have requested the l...
