Electricity theft: Ikeja Electric launches whistle blowing platform

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Ediri Ejoh I N a bid to curb electricity theft across its network, the management of Ikeja Electric Plc, yesterday, launched a whistle blowing platform to enable customers report illegal and unethical activities in a safe, confidential and secure manner for immediate attention. The platform, which is independently managed by Deloitte, one of Nigeria’s leading professional service firms, allows customers report, anonymously by making use of multiple channels including a toll free hotline, an email platform, a web-based service and a mobile app. Speaking on the initiative, the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, explained that the new platform is one of the many measures put in place to encourage a culture of transparency and accountability. Some of the members of the automobile car dealers who spoke to Vanguard, yesterday in Owerri, said that they would accept the planned relocation, with the condition that the Imo state government would first give to them certificate of occupancy of the new place. Polytechnic games: Direction for entrepreneurship education

The target has been met over the years as polytechnics provide leeway for exhibition of practical knowledge in industries and other sectors of the economy. Polytechnic certificates have become stepping stones for employment with employers going by limited spaces in professions, which are attributive to the high unemployment rate in Nigeria. There are divergent views on the provision of high level manpower by polytechnics, compared with holders of  the Higher National Diploma with University degree in related disciplines. The inclusion of entrepreneurship training as a core teaching in polytechnics has not yielded deserving results as the entrepreneurship education is being mismanaged with poor course modules and absence of seriousness in the training.
