The News Agency of Nigeria( NAN) reports that the students had earlier taken to the streets of Ibadan in protest, alleging insensitivity on the part of the university management. But the university’s Director of Communications and Publication, Olatunji Oladejo, told NAN that the closure became necessary in other to avert crisis. He said that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, had convened an emergency meeting of the university Senate to review the circumstances surrounding the development. ” The University of Ibadan in its wisdom has decided to shift the examination earlier scheduled for June to July, 2017, ” Oladejo said. NYSC to post corps members to farms

Suleiman Kazaure, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), said on Monday  that the scheme would  soon begin posting of  corps members to  farms. Kazaure said this in an interview with newsmen during his official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun. He said that the move to deploy corps members to farms  was in line with  the  agricultural development programme of the NYSC. According to him, the NYSC has concluded preparations to begin the posting at the conclusion of the three-week orientation exercise. Ali Modu Sheriff as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, who presided, reserved the judgment after counsel to parties adopted their written addresses. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Sen. Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee of the party had on March 16, filed the appeal against Sheriff’s position. The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt on Feb. 27 declared Sheriff as the legitimate national chairman of the party. Roy Ilegbodu, Arik Air Chief Executive Officer, said this at a news conference in Lagos while highlighting the company’s operations since its takeover by AMCON. Ilegbodu said that the funds injected by AMCON helped in the stabilisation of the airline’s operations, prevention of its collapse and payment of staff salaries. He said the funds were injected into the company in the first couple of weeks the new management took over the airline. Ilegbodu said that the management met a lot of refunds when it took over the company, noting that it paid between N60 million and N75 million to customers as a refund on a weekly basis.
