Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons, Gabriel Obiag-Lima, made the announcement at the African Oil and Gas Conference in Cape Town. All winners were revealed by Obiag-Lima at a press conference. Exxon Mobil, in a statement, confirmed it had signed its Production Sharing Contract, with Equatorial Guinea for Oil acreage EG.-11, thereby heading the list of acreage winners in Equatorial Guinea’s latest licensing bidding round. UK-based Ophir Energy won the bloc EG 24, whilst Taleveras picked the highly potential EG-07 oil bloc and Clonterf Energy landed bloc EG-18. Speaking  yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State at a reception in his honour by a group, Last Eleven, the member representing Bayelsa State on the new board of the commission, Professor Nelson Brambaifa, said it was disheartening when they assumed office to be confronted with image of the commission as a very corrupt intervention agency. Although the area, bordered by Nigeria, Cameroun, Chad and Niger, has been  under siege from  insurgency for years, and has benefited from series of interventions, the threat of chronic hunger from famine and food shortages has escalated. As part of measures to relieve the situation,  Germany has contributed  25.5 million euros (US$28.5 million) to assist the thousands of hungry persons in the immediate region. The sum was  contributed  to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to support its  activities in the four affected countries. The groups also warned the National Assembly not to collaborate with the executive arm on the sale of the refinery without due process. The commendation came as the NYSC reopened its Orientation Course for Corps members in Adamawa State after the government closed the camp and converted it to host internally displaced persons for several years. Addressing Corps members of the 2017 Batch ‘A’ (Stream One) at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in the state, Kazaure particularly noted that the final defeat of the insurgents had made the resumption of the hosting of the Orientation Course in Adamawa possible. 200 injured in Juventus fans panic after bomb scare – police

AFP reporters at the scene said chaotic scenes ensued ten minutes before the end of the match, apparently triggered by fireworks being let off and one or more people shouting that a bomb had gone off. That was enough to trigger a stampede out of the city’s Piazza San Carlo, in which the injuries occurred. The incident compounded a miserable night for supporters of Juventus, who lost the Cardiff final 4-1 to Real Madrid. Police are dealing with a “major incident” on London Bridge, Transport for London said on Saturday, after witnesses reported seeing a van mounting the pavement and hitting pedestrians. “Police are dealing with a major incident and all routes are being diverted,” the transport agency said on Twitter.
