You can’t serve deities and prosper

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Oloruntimilehin Joshua Daramola I t is pertinent for people to always do and take to corrections. Thinking in retrospect makes people to do corrections. There-fore, people should look and think about their past deeds so that they would know what they did wrong that requires correction. No matter the condition or situation you may be, you are required to think of your past. If a person does not think of his past and make necessary corrections he or she might encounter suffering at the end of his/her life. The per-son may live long but in suffering before he or she dies. Imagine an 85-year old mother of seven children that lost all through death because she did not remember to make required correction. Three days after the death of her last child, she died. She did not take cognizance of what was responsible for the death of her children and make amends. People always focus on their future without looking back. In the course of my counseling, the Holy Spirit...

The Judiciary: About time to rise and shine

Image
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Clement Udegbe Arise from depression and frustration in which circumstances have kept you- rise to a new life! Shine, be radiant with the glory of the Lord, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. – Prophet Isaiah in the Holy Bible. O UR politicians and leaders have over time developed good penchant to destroy whatever they cannot manipulate or pollute. The Judiciary, by its nature, training, tradition and ethics, have remained their target, since 1999. Many of them often found ways to extract court judgments that were hardly enforced, while others managed to hang their cases at the investigation level, with the active connivance of the investigating officers. As a result, thousands of cases remain under investigation running into years, till the officers are either transferred, or something happened that would imply the closure of the case – a terrible pervasion of justice, caused by criminal delay. However, the Judiciary r...

Image
http://ift.tt/2o61ca3 Pat Odinachi Utomi Prof. Pat Utomi, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), says the founding fathers of the party would reform it to correct some of its lapses. Utomi told the Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in New York that the party had to be reformed to refocus it to its founding ideals. The founder and former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) party said some of the founding fathers were more committed to building APC as an enduring political party. According to him, however, some people are more interested in taking titles in the party, rather than building it. “I’m a member of the APC; I’m one of the real founding members of the APC. “Forget that because some of us committed more to building real stuff and others rushed to take titles; but we founded the APC. “It’s not been what we thought it would be; let’s be very honest, the party has under-performed, the party’s structure h...
