Law Union targets middle-income earners to drive growth, revenue

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J LAW Union & Rock Insurance Plc has said that it will focus on distribution of its products to the burgeoning middle class during the course of 2017 financial year to drive growth and profitability. The Managing Director, Mr. Jide Orimolade, disclosed this at the company’s 48th Annual General Meeting, AGM, in Lagos. He said that the company also expects to reap huge premium income through retail products as well as launch of additional retail products. He noted that the effort to reposition the company has started yielding result as the company was able to regain its dominance in the engineering sector. The award ceremony took place in Serena Gulf Club in Uganda on May 22, 2017 with Maidou going home with US$25,000 while two companies- Salam Emerging Market and Takaful Insurance Company won Insurance Company of the Year and Innovation of the Year respectively. How Ondo teachers make money from pupils’ fingernails, blood

Police sources hinted Vanguard that one of the teachers pretended to be helping two of the pupils to cut their fingernails and in the process deliberately cut their flesh and allegedly used tissue paper to take blood from the pupil’s injury. The suspect reportedly kept the blood-soaked tissue inside her hand bag. One of the pupils, who is three year old, reportedly informed her father what the teacher did to her. The father, according to police sources, confronted the suspect on what she wanted to do with the blood-stained tissue paper. Missing lecturer found dead in hotel room

Before he went missing, the lecturer was at various times the institution’s Deputy Provost, Academics; Head, Department of Integrated Science and also that of Chemistry. A family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the deceased had, few days back, gone out to visit a sick colleague, but failed to return home. http://ift.tt/eA8V8J THE University system in Nigeria has been praised by the Vice Chancellor of Sokoto State University, Prof. Nuhu Yaqub, during his lecture entitled “The Administration and Management of a University in a Recessed Economy: The Case of Nigeria” during the fifth Annual Prof. Adetokunbo Sofoluwe’s Memorial lecture, organised by the University of Lagos Alumni, Lagos State Branch at the University campus, Akoka. The university teacher pointed out that Nigerian varsities are well structured to promote human development and scholarship, though some varsity systems are buffeted by unnecessary crises emanating from the ones generated internally – such as in the cases of staff and students’ restiveness, all manner of academic frauds perpetrated by both academic and non-academic staff as well as the students, among others.
