Police parade 32 suspected kidnappers, robbers in Kogi

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Boluwaji Obahopo L OKOJA— The police in Kogi, yesterday, parade 32 suspects arrested over offences bothering on kidnapping, robbery, illegal possession of fire arms, vandalism and unlawful possession of substance, among others. Four of the suspects are allegedly behind the kidnap of two businessmen and recent robbery incidents in the state. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operation, Edward Ebuka, who paraded the suspects at the Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja, said they were arrested at their different hideouts. He said six of them, Ugbodaga Wada, Abdul Mudi, Adamu Faruna, Nuhu Usman, Abaji Awor and Abdulahi Sule were arrested for the kidnap of Alhaji Musa Oseni and Alhaji Buba in April at Ayingba. Ebuka said that 17 suspects were also being held for their alleged involvement in various robbery incidents on the highways and other parts of the state. The Foreign Office in London said it had received reports the Islamist militants were “actively planning” to seize foreign workers in the Bama local government area of Borno state. Both said in travel advice that the affected area was “along the Banki-Kumshe axis”, which is near the border with Cameroon. The US embassy in Abuja said in a message to its nationals that the report was “credible”. Boko Haram has kidnapped thousands of women and children, including more than 200 schoolgirls from the Borno town of Chibok in 2014, which brought the conflict to world attention. Former Nigeria under-23 international Ichull joins on a two-year contract from Nassarawa United, and will wear the no. 31 jersey. Togo international Franco has earned four caps for the Sparrowhawks, and joins from Malian side Stade de Malien. He will wear the no. 30 jersey. Both transfers have been entered into the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Domestic TMS, and all registrations have been completed. Technical Adviser Gbenga Ogunbote declared himself pleased with the signings. “I want to believe the two of them are a plus to the team,” he said. “You know, we need creativity in our game.
