The 52-year-old’s campaign focused on overhauling the UN health agency after its much-criticised handling of the west African Ebola epidemic, and speculation that the United States might cut its funding for the agency. “We live in a changing world, and the WHO must be able to change with it,” Tedros said in his vision statement, citing new health threats brought about through globalisation, climate change and unhealthy lifestyles. A specialist in malaria with a doctorate from the University of Nottingham in Britain, Tedros was appointed Ethiopia’s health minister in 2005 where he oversaw a drive to expand basic healthcare by building thousands of clinics and boosting community-based health services. According to AOS Orwell HSE Head, Mr Benedict Akogo, “AOS Orwell won the award for demonstrating visible and outstanding safety leadership and care for people.” The award was presented to the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Femi Omotayo by Shell Executive Vice President (Nigeria and Gabon) Mr. Peter Costello. Lagos retained the title, after five out of their six players emerged as the top six on the scores table. With the victory, Lagos won a trophy and a cash prize of N100,000. Delta and Akwa Ibom came second and third best respectively . Dipo Akanbi, representing Lagos state, emerged the 2017 individual champion after winning 18 games with an aggregate of +743. Akanbi, with the victory, earned a trophy and a cash prize of N150,000 Dayo Tayo, also of Lagos state, came second with 16.5 wins and +346 aggregate and a cash prize of N100,000. The prosecution had alleged that the cleric incited disturbance and attempted to defame the character of the monarch, contrary to Section 114, 392 and 399 of the penal code. Recall that on May 8, 2017 Emir Sanusi lodged a complaint with  the Kano State Commissioner of Police,claiming that the defendant, on March 20, 2017, acted in a manner which defamed his character. Emir Sanusi said that Shiek Nasiru Bazallah had gathered his adherents at Goron Dutse quarters, where he made statements to incite disturbance and defame the monarch. NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO), on Saturday in Abuja, also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over the high ground areas of Jos and Kaduna later in the day. It added that the region would also experience day and night temperature of 30 to 34 and 19 to 26 respectively. The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience increased cloudiness with chances of early morning moderate thunderstorms over Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo and Ibadan.
