New time table for nsf elections released

A revised timetable for the National Sports Federations elections has been released by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The deadline for submission of forms is now May 19, 2017 while verification of names of representatives of other constituencies except those from the zones will take place between May 23rd and 24th 2017.

Zonal elections hold on May 25, 2017 while Bye Elections arising from Petitions and Appeals at Zonal and Constituency levels will take place on June 7, 2017. June 13, 2017 still remains the date for elections into positions of Federations’ Presidents and Vice Presidents while the inauguration of the Boards of National Sports Federations hold on July 13, 2017.

CJN okays Mustapha as new S-Court Chief Registrar

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J By Ikechukwu Nnochiri ABUJA – The Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, has okayed the appointment of Mrs. Hadizatu Uwani Mustapha, as the new Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court. A statement from the CJN on Sunday indicated that Mrs. Mustapha will assume office on July 1, to replace the current Chief Registrar, Mr. Ahmad Gambo Saleh. The statement further revealed that Saleh will on the same day resume in his new position as the Secretary of the National Judicial Council, NJC. Mrs. Mustapha’s elevation to the apex court was contained in a Letter of Offer of Appointment dated May 31 and signed by the Secretary of the Federal Judicial Service Commission, FJSC, Mrs. Bilkisu Bashir. According to the CJN, “Mrs. Mustapha emerged from a strong field of six applicants interviewed by the FJSC on May 30”.
