The cup donor and financier of the just concluded Edo U-13 football championship, Mr. Gregory Imafidon has charged the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, to channel 40% percent of the state’s IGR into sports development programmes.

The Edo-born US-based ex-player stated this while presenting gift items and a giant gold trophy and medals to the winners of the competition at the Samuel Ogbemudia staching Benin City.

“I am very happy watching these wonderful kids display various football artistry here at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. You can see that they are elated and smiling home with the gift and cash prize. It is a big day to me. This is the main reason why this government of Godwin Obaseki showed channel just a little percentage of the state funds into developmental sports programmes”.
