Keynote speaker, Principal Partner, Phillips Consulting Limited, Foluso Phillips said organisations could improve productivity of their employees by driving engagement, commitment and motivation.

Employee engagement in any organisation is key to staff effectiveness, productivity, optimal performance and the sustainability of every business.

This was the submission of experts at a breakfast seminar organised for human resources managers by Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, with the theme: “Increasing Employee Productivity Through Engagement,” held in Lagos recently.

Keynote speaker, Principal Partner, Phillips Consulting Limited, Foluso Phillips said organisations could improve productivity of their employees by driving engagement, commitment and motivation.

He identified some key drivers of engagement to include career opportunity, organisation reputation, pay package, brand alignment, innovation, recognition or reward, as well as people and human resources practice, among others.

He said organisations must adopt selective hiring, line manager leadership skills, mentoring, competitive salaries, comfortable working environment, flexibility of work and open communication as key drivers of productivity.

Speaking earlier, Head, Personal Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Nkolika Okoli said the bank constantly strives to add value to its employees, which goes beyond providing banking services to the customers.

She stated that the bank views its relationship with its customers as a partnership, which is why customers should experience such benefits that change old perception where banks are seen as just custodians of their funds.

Head, Workplace Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Mrs. Olajumoke Bello said the bank was committed to hosting subsequent sessions to impact the businesses of its customers.
